Amazon Books

Amazon has a huge selection of books. I was browsing their collection a few days ago and they seemed to have almost everything.

I tried to order some Warcraft lore books but unfortunately my card was not compatible with their payment methods. So now I have to wait until I find a credit card that is supported and purchase the books. It does not help that delivery time is about half a month for overseas shipments.

Foundation - Isaac Asimov

Foundation is a science fiction series by the well known Asimov.

It takes a different approach and deals with the story of the entire human race over thousands of years and the predictions of psychohistorians that shapes the future of the human race. A good read and interesting story. You should definitely try it.

Google Android

I’ve seen quite sick of all the lame ass interfaces phones have these days and I always wondering why I couldn’t install a different operating system like we do in computers.

I guess Google was thinking along the same lines when they developed Android, a platform for applications and functions to run on phones. But they were not the first to think about this. OpenMoko project has been aiming to do the same for quite a while now.

The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight is the sequel to the awesome Batman Begins. This time the villain is the Joker, Batman’s greatest enemy.

Usually the Joker is portrayed as a comic figure prancing around and giggling all the time. But this time he has been given a new look and a much more sinister character. He is evil and his laughter sends a chill down your spine. Heath Ledger has created an unforgettable Joker. The movie released on July 18th. Don’t miss it!

CBR Reader

It’s simply cheaper to download and read comics on the computer. When I actually did buy some comics I found them hard to read due to the lights reflecting off the glossy pages. There is no such problem on the computer. Images are bright and sharp and CBR Reader makes navigating through the pages very useful.

I’m going to stick with .cbr files from now on.

Robert Jordan Dead

Robert Jordan, author of The Wheel of Time series of fantasy novels passed away after a long battle with a rare medical condition. His expansive fantasy worlds complete with cultures and history is told in his 11 part story The Wheel of Time.

His untimely death leaves questions about the completion of the series. The last book is rumoured to be written by a Perrin Aybara fan which will probably destroy the entire series.

Battlestar Galactica

Battlestar Galactica (BSG for short) is a science fiction TV series about the remnants of the human civilization fleeing from the massive onslaught of the Cylons.

The series has an epic feel to it and the action scenes are very tense. There is quite a lot of realism in the way spacecraft move and sounds in outer space are muted as they should be. The series ran for 4 seasons and is considered the one of the best science fiction series made for television.

Batman - Red Rain

Batman & Dracula: Red Rain, Batman: Bloodstorm and Batman: Crimson Mist are some of the best Batman comics ever. I thought only Frank Miller could produce masterpieces but these guys did an amazing job. The art is gritty and the story is engaging. Must read for any Batman fan.
